 Mr.
Alberto and Mrs. Pia, the owners of the estate, were born
and raised in Tuscany and more precisely in Cortona and
Foiano della Chiana. They spent their whole lives in this
area making investments and buidling stunning villas. They
recently decided to dedicate two of the villas of the estate
to their grand-children, GIOIA and LAPO and this is the
reason why the estate itself was named GIOLA by combining
the initials of their names.
The
GIOLA estate consists of two villas, villa GIOIA and villa
LAPO; the two villas are totally independent but located
in close proximity to one another. Each villa has an independent
entrance and a private front yard. The swimming pool (23
x 46 feet), fully equipped with sun beds and beach umbrellas,
is surrounded by a large olive-tree, cypress and pine-tree
garden conveying a great sense of harmony.
Both
villa GIOIA and villa LAPO were fully restored in April
2006 and may for this reason provide guests with real Tuscan
style as well as all modern comforts and amenities.
The
hilltop location of the estate allows guests to enjoy a
stunning view over a variety of medieval villages and hamlets
standing all around such as Lucignano, Monte San Savino,
Cortona and Civitella and easily reach all major culture
and art cities such as Siena, Florence and Assisi. Driving
from the estate you may also spend unforgettable days in
the Tuscan country-side of the Val d’Orcia, Montalcino,
Montepulciano and Pienza. The latter itineraries are ideal
for all lovers of good wine, Tuscan bread and good cheese.
 Our
villas may be rented separately or together depending on
your needs and/or the requests of our guests. If your party
is larger than 16 people we will be able to provide you
with further accommodation close by the villas. Mr. Alberto
and Mrs. Pia decided to make their wonderful estate available
to all those wishing to spend their holidays in our spectacular
region and those wishing to arrange their wedding, anniversary,
birthday party here or wishing to attend an Italian language
course or go on mountain bike tours, wine and cheese tasting
tours and tours of the Chianti and its castles.
During
your stay the staff of our estate will be glad to cater
to all of your needs, help you know our region better and
recommend restaurants, shops and all you may possibly need.
